Net-Book Reflection

How has having a net-book helped my learning? I can save my work on it but and it will save or automatics. I can see my class site from home and be prepared for my work the next day. It is easy to present and share work to friends and teachers Send mail from home to the teacher aids.

Has having a net-book helped you communicate with your teacher? My teacher can communicate by putting comments on my document and tell us to recheck it again and also send us cool websites for Maths, Reading, Writing and Inquiry.

What have you learnt on-line? I've learnt on-line about how to do fraction and learn how to change time. Matching fractions to the same one, Taking a quiz on-line with a partner.
What have you learnt from your friends? What I have learnt from my friend is information about Nelson Mandela.
Have you helped other people this year? I have helped a student about Nelson Mandela and he has helped me to with it and also another student that taught me how to make a movie.
How has digital learning helped your learning? It has help me complete my work faster and also be more interested and excited about my learning because I am able to gather so much information for my learning by using my net-book.

Atheletics day

It is the 11th of November and we started our Athletics day. It was quite amazing to see our school join it, we had walk down to the court to court our year order. When we got into our order of ages, year 4,year 5, year 6, year 7 and the year 8.

The Y6 group took our first  event  and it was the 100 meter sprint race with Miss Tofa. So I had to race with the girls, we were sprinting to the finishing line when I felt  that the wind was slowing me down on the track. I came first in the race with the girls, Miss Tofa called out to the names of the people that will race for first, second and third place. I came third in the race.

Next we were with Miss Silva and Miss Pome'e down at the court doing relay. Miss Silva explained the rules to us. When she told the rules she got Kyana and Manuae to be the leaders of there groups. Kyana chose me to be in her team for the race, we lined up and the first person had to sprint down to Miss Pome'e and run back. One by one we ran as fast as we could to beat the other team. Bono, Brandon and magila made it through to the interschools.

After the relay we walked back up to do long jump with Miss D and Miss Atuahiva. Manuae gave a paper to Miss Atuahiva to check who will come first second and third place in long jump. I ran and made it a little on the mat but bono made it farer than everyone in the group. We were trying to jump on the mat but some landed on the grass.
Again bono, siotame and brandon made it.

When we finished our third event Miss Atuahiva told us to move on to shot put with Miss Moopanar. Miss Moopanar had to split  us up into  kauri, nikau, kowhai and  rata. We took our best on doing it  after james it was my turn. When I pushed it  landed on the ground  next to ilalio. It was 9.5m away from me, I came first in shot put second was bono and then siotame.

Area of Perimeter

Today for my social work for this week was perimeter, my group did a maths work called area of
 perimeter.
First we had to do, find out how to measure out a oblong. We did page 156
and 157.  Doing it was kind of hard but I still tried to work it out by myself.
I found out how to do it was to rule it with a ruler on it

Persuasive Writing

Children should work from the age of 8.

I think that children should not work at the
age of 8 because they are too little for the
job, they might not have rests.

I disagree to this discussion because, if
they work they can’t reach anything and
also they can not lift anything.

I also disagree because they won’t have time to play
with their family and cousins.

Children are not fit to work from that age because they might get a head
injury and if break a bone in their leg
or arm when working.

To summarise, children are not ready physically to work in the jobs that adults work in. They still need time to grow up and enjoy their childhood.

My reflection on my learning this wek

For the past four days I have been learning about angles in maths. Learning about angles is really exciting and we even rotated our bodies using different degrees to turn. I learnt that there is 360 degrees around a circle and 180 degrees in half a circle.

That was my reflection for this week.

MY HOLIDAY

In my holiday I woke up and said “WOW what a sunshiny day”. I was pleased to have fun in my holiday.

When I first got up in the morning, I had to go with Anthony to exercise with our dog around St Heliers and Leybourne circle. Then we came back in a happy and smiley way. My brother and I  were so tired from  walking. We came and had a big rest in the fresh air outside. My brother felt like he had a fun day with me.
After that we went to the Glen Innes pools. WE were excited to death because my brother said “ohh man Voni I can’t wait to get in the big pool in the middle”. I said “Do you mean the adult pool”. “Yes” he said. First when we got in we didn’t have to pay for it be cause it is for free.”WOW! I said you are right this is the one you mean”.

We got changed into out togs. I had flames on my shorts and he had water pictures on his shorts  too. “Yay” he said. I jumped into the pool and it was deep when I went into the middle.. We played in the pool until it got dark. Then we got out to get changed. Then we left the pool to go home to have dinner.

Then my brother and I went to our rooms to play Call of Duty. We were teams we shot them like a pancake. The zombies had to run after us to eat us. I said to him across the room “This is a cool game to play in the holidays” and he said “Of course it is what a cool game”. We got tired and went to sleep for a good day the next day.

Limerick

There once was a man who lived
in a jam and hated ham with jam and
had to eat it with the man

There once was a dog
who hated blogs, he got some dogs
to crush the blogs

There was a dad who was bad
and he liked to have bad dads
in his own pants

There was an old person of Florence,
who held mutton chop abhorrence,
he purchased a busted, and fried him with mustard,
which choked that old person of Florence.

Life Caravan

LI: To use adjectives
Sc: I have used adjectives to to describe
On Thursday we went down to the Harold Caravan. Our class had to go for there last turn in the caravan. We went there to learn magnificent stuff and we went to see our best friend harold.
But first we had to learn things before we see Harold. People had to be good before they see harold.
Our class was sooo likeable, they were thrilled that's why they were being considerate. When  we were finished we saw Harold coming out from his room, he didn't want to come out because he was busy but he still had to come out so we can see for real. Such it was finally time to go back up for morning tea.
