ANZAC 1000 Years

Anzac Day was first marked in 1915 and it is also celebrated on the 25 of April. It is celebrated on the 25 of  April because it is to honor the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who served and fought for our country.

The aim for the Australian and New Zealand army was to capture dardanelles and clear the path for the Bosphorus and the big black sea. By the end of the campaign Gallipoli was still held by the evil Turkish soldiers.

There were 85,000 Turkish bodies, 44,000 mens from France, 8500 bodies dead from the British army 2779 bodies from Australia and New Zealand.

Malama Honua

Last week Wednesday our senior students walked down to Pt England Reserve. The first thing we did was settle down at our place where we were going to sit at. Teachers took photos of the visitors, the Hikianlia waka and the Ukualea waka. When the visitors came the leader did a haka to welcome them to the country of New Zealand. Everybody sang and did important prayers in Maori. Leaders from other school presented them with the hook of Maui hero of aotearoa. Schools came one by one to shake and say goodbye, we each got a food from the hungi and did fun activity's with a big compass.

Kiwi Can

On Friday we had our last session with our teachers Mrs Tuia and Mr Numia. At kiwi can we talked about what we did for the past few weeks. After that we were being told what to do, they separated us into 5 groups. The activity we did was doing role playing. We each got a slip to do, it was funny because others were doing silly role playings. Gkq was up next, 4 people got to get up one at a time, the questions were tricky and hard. We all did our new catch fraze and did our last fraze of the day.

Maths

Today my group and I soled a difficult problem with our teacher Mrs Tofa. The question was, Piri, Maia and ollie are planing to make pikeletes for afternoon tea. There recipe needs 3/4 of cup of milk to batch 25 pikelets. How many cups will they need to make 100 pikelets. My answer was 3/4 + 3/4 = 12/4, 12 divideby 4 equals to 3. It was pretty hard becuase I had to use my brain and figure it out.

In term one we had amazing activity's, trips and sports. We had assembly on our first day to welcome us for a new start at school, we were having fun with new students that we're enrolling to our school.

The school had two people come in and teach us about anti-bullying and they did a corked art for us to see. There was a man that came to our brightful school and taught us heaps of cool tricks and moves to use in special event like touch.

Our lovely principle Mrs Elia phoned up a couple of leaders from a company called kiwi. Kiwi can was a company full of joy. Their name were Mrs Tuia and Mr Numia it is heaps of fun because they teach us games and also help us with positive behaviours and positive relationships.

For our sport event we had cricket practises for the cricket competitions. Our coach for cricket was Mrs North, he has respect and love for others. It finally came to the day that we had rush down to a Rugby and Cricket club called University, at Colin Maiden Park. We were all tired because we kept on winning but lost to St Pius x. The teams last match was against the undefeated team point england. At the end of the game we cheered with tiredness. The team came first, it was fun to participate with my team.

The senior school went to Butterfly Creek to learn and get ideas from dinosaur research. Our tutors were Paul and Tesa. At butterfly creek we went on the train, butterfly room, dinosaur kingdom and the farm. It was fun because we got to met different kinds of dinosaurs and creatures from the pond.
